Corey was born September 1, 1999. Corey has always been a laid back easy going child, that is how he got the nickname (one of many) Pawpaw. He was very patriotic, loved to hang around his friends, and most in importantly make everyone laugh.
September of 2018 Corey started complaining of back problems. We didn't think much of it other than he may have injured his back. He made several trips to the doctor. We realized something wasn't right when the pain got to a point he wouldn't get out of bed. With multiple test's, MRI's, and CT scan's they spotted a mass on his adrenal gland. He was diagnosed in December 2018 with Stage IV Ewing's Sarcoma. Corey fought hard and said he was not going to let this cancer get him. In July of 2019 he had a relapse and had to have surgery and radiation to slow down the tumors that were keeping him from walking. Corey lost his battle November 26, 2019.
While Corey was going through treatment we had an overwhelming of support from our church family, family/friends, and the community. A golf tournament was held for us to help with any of Corey's medical expenses. Before Corey passed away we talked about sponsoring a family fighting this terrible disease each year with a golf tournament. So we are carrying on Corey's memory by giving back to others that are in need.
